1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to remember your actions and preferences over time. We also use related technologies such as local storage and pixels; we treat these the same way as cookies for consent purposes, consistent with PECR and ePrivacy guidance from the UK Information Commissioner’s Office and the European Data Protection Board.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies for two broad purposes:
- Strictly necessary — cookies that are essential for the website to function (for example, remembering your consent choices, or basic security signals). Under PECR / ePrivacy, these do not require consent.
- Analytics — cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These are not set unless you give consent.
We do not use advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking cookies on this website.
3. Cookies we may set
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
av_cookie_consent | Alsvior Global group (first-party) | Stores your cookie preferences (granted, denied, last updated) so we do not ask you again on every page. | Strictly necessary | 12 months | Not required |
_ga | Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd) | Distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated identifier so usage can be measured in aggregate. | Analytics | Up to 13 months | Required (opt-in) |
_ga_F3WB61RE0E | Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd) | Persists session state for our specific GA4 property (G-F3WB61RE0E). | Analytics | Up to 13 months | Required (opt-in) |
Where you book a meeting we may use Calendly, Microsoft Office 365 (Microsoft Bookings) and / or OnePlan for scheduling and engagement planning. Those services may set their own cookies on their own domains when you reach their booking interface; those cookies are governed by Calendly’s Cookie Notice, the Microsoft Privacy Statement and OnePlan’s Privacy Policy respectively, and are not loaded until you interact with the booking flow.
4. Legal basis
Regulation 6 of PECR and Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive require us to obtain prior, informed, freely-given, specific and unambiguous consent before storing or accessing information on your device, except where strictly necessary to provide a service that you have asked for. We rely on:
- The strictly-necessary exemption for the consent cookie itself.
- Consent under Article 6(1)(a) UK / EU GDPR and Article 5(3) ePrivacy for analytics cookies. Consent is captured by our cookie banner and recorded in
av_cookie_consent.
5. How to manage cookies
You can manage cookies in three ways:
- On this website — use the cookie banner that appears on your first visit, or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, or the button at the top of this page.
- In your browser — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See allaboutcookies.org for instructions per browser. Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the site.
- Global signals — we honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where supported by the browser; if GPC is enabled, we treat it as a refusal of analytics cookies in line with guidance from the European Data Protection Board.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any analytics processing carried out before withdrawal.
6. Do Not Track
Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not standardised. In the absence of a clear signal, we rely on the choice you record in our consent banner. Where the browser sends Global Privacy Control we treat it as a refusal of optional cookies.
7. International transfers
Where Google Analytics involves transfers of data to the United States, we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the UK extension to it for certified Google entities, supported by Standard Contractual Clauses where required. See section 6 of our Privacy Policy for more.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our use of cookies changes. The “Effective” date at the top of the page shows the version currently in force.
